Hi,
I am Joseph Nair, presently persuing certification in Supply Chain, Project Management, RFID and Lean/Process. Since I am persuing CPIM/CPM from the APICS/ISM institute. I felt a gap, as APICS is for someone from an ERP environment while CPM needs to cover more than Purchase/Supply. The other certification I am persuing is Certified Supply Chain Manager(CSCM) from ISCEA.

The CSCM designation is aimed at professionals interested in increasing their knowledge of total supply chain management, those currently working in the field of supply chain management, and those working with enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems.

Knowledge you get at this ISCEA workshop/class prepares the CSCA (Certified Supply Chain Analyst), CSCM (Certified Supply
Chain Manager) or CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory
Management) Certifications.

The advantage in going with ISCEA is the cost which is a third of the
costing in being APICS-CPIM certified. In addition the good news is
ISCEA will be directly conducting web lectures/workshop at a
pre-defined venue here in Delhi. So you get certified in a step by
step mode.

ISCEA with it's many Alliances works to bring in education and certification of Supply Chain Operation under one umbrella. The ISCEA Membership is Absolutely FREE, however members to pay for the workshops and certifications. Just in the past twelve months ISCEA added close to 24,000 members. They have made alliances with organizations such as PMI, APICS, and ISM at Chapter level and have reached over to 200,000 associated members.

In case this interest you, a Professional Development meeting could be planned each month where like minded Supply Chain, Operation, and IT executives can come together to talk about the industry trends and network. The Venue will be either Connaught Place or in Lodhi Institutional area.

During the dinner you can have a Speaker on a relevant supply chain topic. We found this to be an issue in some parts of the world. They did not like the idea of someone talking while they were eating. We will have to modify the timing, if this is an issue in India. With regard to speaker, this is where I think we can offer presentations by American Experts in real time. The audience will be able to see the speaker and we will be able to take questions from the audience in real time.
